September meeting recap

Thank you for all that attended last night’s homebrew meeting. I had fun! David even came all the way from Germany to join us (okay, maybe not – but he still joined us). We also welcomed Pete back after a few month hiatus.

As has become a bit of a tradition we sampled homebrew beers. It was another good evening and there were some beautiful beers sampled and discussed. The list:

  • A pre-lagered pilsner
  • Nelson Sauvin Session IPA
  • Wild fermented Pale Ale (Yeast bay Melange blend)
  • Saison
  • Stout
  • New England IPA
  • Black IPA
  • Kölsch

We discussed some possible future activities for FOEBAR. We are looking into sensory testing kits to better understand off flavours, and to invite some of the local (or not so local) professional brewers to some of our evenings or competitions. Speaking about competitions we have our next homebrew competition in exactly 2 months time. Now would be a good time to draft your recipe if you plan to enter.

It also seems that a lot of us will be present next week Saturday at Borefts beer festival. For those that still need tickets, keep checking ticketswap 😉 Hope to see another good turnout during our next meeting that will take place Tuesday October 9th!
